Hammond Lumber Co. stores in Skowhegan, Farmington and Auburn have won a National Achievement in Safety Award from the National Lumber and Building Materials Dealer Association. The award will be given March 31 at a conference in Washington.

The stores were recognized for outstanding safety rates in 2006 in the areas of employee injuries and illnesses, employee days away from work, restricted work activity and job transfer due to injury or illness.
