MESA, Ariz. – Chris Burleson had three hits, scored two runs and knocked in three runs to lead the University of Southern Maine of Gorham to a 9-3 win over Williams College in the first game of a baseball doubleheader on Tuesday.
Williams defeated the Huskies 14-3 in the second game.
In the first game, Collin Henry of Penobscot and George Stevens Academy pitched six innings, allowing six hits and one walk with six strikeouts to earn the win.
Ryan Gaffney posted two hits and two RBIs while Mike Eaton and Josh Mackey each had two hits and an RBI for the Huskies.
In the second game, Williams scored 13 runs in the final three innings to erase a 4-1 deficit.
Anthony D’Alfonso led USM with two hits and an RBI while Eddie Skeffington drove in a pair of runs.
