The Woodlawn Croquet Team of Perry Mattson of Surry and Randall McAndrew of Stuart, Fla., finished second in its flight at the United States Croquet Association National Club Team Championship held recently at West Palm Beach, Fla.

The Ellsworth-based team had to work through the losers’ bracket in the 12-team section of the 100-team tournament to reach the final.

Woodlawn Croquet will open for its second season in May and is planning to host new programs and basic lessons. New members are welcome. Those interested should call Joshua Torrance at 667-8671 or Perry Mattson at 667-9335.
