While on patrol early Monday morning, Holden police Officer Chris Greeley noticed a vehicle parked on the side of Irving Mainway that wasn’t near the entrance and three people were sitting inside.

Greeley approached the vehicle at about 1:30 a.m. and the three individuals all admitted that they had pulled into the parking lot to smoke marijuana.

Driver Amanda Butler, 20, of East Haven, Conn., and passenger Edward Landry, 19, of East Machias were summoned for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Another passenger, Christoffer Harrison, 23, of Marshfield, was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail for violation of condition of release. He was out on bail after being charged with operating under the influence in another county. Harrison also was summoned for possession of marijuana.

Greeley was on patrol as part of a midnight shift that the Holden Police Department instated at the beginning of the year. The department has handled more than 100 incidents on the overnight shift since it began, Greeley said. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)

An Old Town man called police Sunday night saying he possibly had been assaulted, but in the end, he was the one who went to jail.

Andy Goodall, 21, told police he was making out with a girl in the bathroom at a friend’s mobile home late Sunday night when the girl’s friend opened the door. The female friend thought Goodall was attacking his partner and began to assault him.

“After talking to the officer, nobody wanted to press charges, but [Goodall] had been issued a criminal trespass warning a couple of days before not to be at the trailer,” Old Town police Sgt. Mike Hashey said Monday.

State police charged two Penobscot County women Monday in connection with an alleged assault and robbery in Enfield.

Shayna Hill, 18, of Greenbush was charged with robbery and assault, Trooper Larry Anderson said. Jade Harris, 19, of Howland was charged with robbery, he said. Both women are scheduled to appear in Penobscot County Superior Court in May.

Few details about what led to the charges were released Monday night because the incident remains under investigation, Anderson said.

The trooper did confirm, however, that the incident occurred about 10:45 a.m. Monday on Old County Road South in Enfield and that the victim was a female minor from the area.

He said the minor was not in school at the time of the incident because the school she attended was not in session Monday.

Anderson said Trooper Jennifer Fiske and Trooper Dave Yankowsky are assisting with the investigation. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
