Robert P. Welch has been named the chairman of the board of directors of Bangor Federal Credit Union. A lifelong member of Bangor Federal Credit Union, Welch has been on the credit union’s supervisory committee and board for nearly 25 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Augusta and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. He is currently executive director of the Gambling Control Board for the state of Maine and is pursuing a master’s degree at Husson College. He retired from the Bangor Police Department as deputy chief after serving 25 years with the department. Others on the credit union’s board are Jeff Cammack, vice chairman; Jack Collins, treasurer; and Mary Lou Armes, secretary.
