WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Maine-Farmington received solid pitching performances from Dan Hemdal and Craig Pendleton to earn a 10-6, 5-2 sweep of Becker College in college baseball action Monday afternoon.
In the first game, Hemdal allowed four hits and one earned run over six innings, while Tyler Hanson had three singles and three RBIs.
In the second game, Pendleton pitched a complete-game six-hitter with 10 strikeouts and just one walk.
Phineas Peake and Russ Schmelzer each had two hits for the Beavers, with Schmelzer adding three stolen bases and Peake scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning.

Bates, Bowdoin split
At Medford, Mass., Bowdoin College cruised past Bates 17-1 in the first game, before Bates took the second game of a doubleheader 5-0 on Sunday at Tufts University.
In the first game, Molly Nestor had three hits and drove in five runs to lead Bowdoin. Alison Coleman hit a two-run home run to highlight a nine-run fifth inning.
In the second game, Sarah Cullen earned the complete-game shutout for Bates and went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs. Stacia Saniuk tallied three hits for the Bobcats.

At Leicester, Mass., Lauren Overlock went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers past Becker College.
Sarah Defilipp of Brewer had a single and three RBIs for UMF. She also pitched four innings of scoreless ball for the win. Kelly McDonough had a double, single and an RBI.
Lindsay Hanna had a double and single, and Noelle Gleason hit a two-run home run.
