Air Force Airman Jamie L. Petrello, daughter of Theresa Petrello of Manchester, N.H., and granddaughter of Lori Newcomb of Bangor, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is a 2007 graduate of Central High School, Manchester.

Air Force Airman Patrick R. Petersen, son of Florence McWilliams of Palmyra and Chris Petersen of Pittsfield, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2006 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School, Newport.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Sean F. Merrill, son of William F. Merrill II of Solon, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2001 graduate of Carrabec High School, North Anson.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Sheldon S. Tozier, son of Sheldon C. Tozier and June A. Leen of Bangor, has returned to Alaska after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is assigned to the 1st Squadron, 40th Calvary Regiment at Fort Richardson, Anchorage. Tozier is a 1985 graduate of Bangor High School.
