If you’re interested in learning more about the forest around you, you may want to take part in a tree lore and identification walk being planned on Mount Desert Island on April 26.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and last about an hour.
Dennis Smith will lead the short walk along an old road, and those who take part will learn about 20 different Maine trees, including history, folklore and identification tips.
All ages are invited to the event, which is part of Turn Off Your TV Week.
The walk begins at Old Breakneck Road. Go to the Acadia National Park headquarters on the Eagle Lake Road, head toward Bar Harbor and you’ll find the road on your left.
The event is free.
