DEXTER – A body found Saturday afternoon behind a local residence has been identified as George Theriault, 32, of Ripley Road in Dexter.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday on Theriault’s body by the state medical examiner’s office and the results are pending further studies, according to Jim Ferland of the medical examiner’s office.

“At this time there is no reason to believe there was any foul play,” Sgt. Troy Gardner of the Maine State Police criminal investigation division said Tuesday.

Gardner said Theriault had been seen in the area in the early morning hours the day his body was found at about 4:25 p.m. by a resident on lower Main Street. Dexter police notified CID, which conducted the investigation.
