Outlook: The Black Bears will tune up for their America East weekend series at Maryland Baltimore County with today’s game against the Eagles. UMaine lost three of four to Albany last weekend. Coppin State of the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference went into Tuesday’s game at Navy having lost 26 consecutive contests. UMaine is striving for more consistency in all areas, especially producing runs, and warmer weather can’t hurt. Smith went 5-for-14 (.357) with five runs scored and two RBIs against Albany. Ryan Forrest, Lugbauer and Balentina are among the pitchers who may get some work. The Eagles are batting a lowly .223 as a team and have a 11.14 team ERA. They have committed 102 errors.
