CUMBERLAND – A woman whose car crossed the median on Interstate 295 and slammed into a television news vehicle going in the opposite direction on Tuesday has died of her injuries at a Portland hospital.

Police said Heather Bouchard, 24, of Yarmouth died after several hours of surgery at Maine Medical Center.

The two occupants of the WCSH-TV truck, reporter Susan Kimball and photojournalist Aaron Twombly, were treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours after Tuesday morning’s collision.
