Because of the success of past Union Trust Chefs’ Galas in raising funds for mammography machines at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth, proceeds from this year’s event will be used to provide “funds of mammogram scholarships for those whose mammograms are not covered under their insurance plan,” reports Jane Sanderson.

The 15th annual Union Trust Chefs’ Gala, the Roaring Twenties, will be 5:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 26, at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Ellsworth.

The evening features a 1928 automobile with a rumble seat, a replica of Lindbergh’s Sprit of St. Louis, specialty foods by local chefs and the live band music of Big Chief, Sanderson wrote.

In addition, Stanley Subaru has donated a pink Schwinn “Hope” Breast Cancer Awareness scooter for a raffle, with the winning ticket to be drawn that evening. You do not need to be present to win.
