PITTSFIELD – Firefighters worked quickly Friday afternoon to extinguish a grass fire that was sparked by a passing train behind a warehouse on Hunnewell Avenue. Capt. Michael Havey said about an acre was burned behind the Cianbro Corp. warehouse, adjacent to the Sebasticook River.

PITTSFIELD – Firefighters worked quickly Friday afternoon to extinguish a grass fire that was sparked by a passing train behind a warehouse on Hunnewell Avenue.

Capt. Michael Havey said about an acre was burned behind the Cianbro Corp. warehouse, adjacent to the Sebasticook River.

About 16 Pittsfield firefighters took less than a half-hour to put the fire out.
