PORTLAND – Clayton Conrad of North Yarmouth won the 79th Portland Boys & Girls Club 5-mile road race, ending a string of six consecutive victories by Freeport’s Ethan Hemphill.

Conrad ran the Patriot’s Day race in 25 minutes, 44 seconds Monday, crossing the finish line 25 seconds ahead of Hemphill. Andrew Spaulding of Freeport was third at 26:53.

The top women’s finisher was Carry Buterbaugh of South Portland, at 30:03. Larissa Boddie of Cumberland was runner-up at 30:29, followed by Emily Durgin of Standish at 31:39.
