About 2,000 Beco Baby Butterfly carriers, made in the United States and Dominican Republic by Beco Baby Carrier Inc., have been recalled because the buckles on the carrier’s shoulder straps can unexpectedly release tension. This can cause the strap to slip through, posing a fall hazard to the baby. Beco has received eight reports of the carrier straps slipping through the shoulder buckles. No injuries have been reported. The recalled baby carriers were sold at specialty stores nationwide and on the Internet from January through February this year.
