HA’s Littlefield fires one-hitter against Eagles

HAMPDEN – Lacey Littlefield tossed a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts Wednesday to lead Hampden Academy to a 3-0 softball victory over Messalonskee of Oakland.

Littlefield posted three singles and an RBI for the Broncos. Michelle Wells had two singles while Morgan Doyon added an RBI single for Hampden.

Julianna Sekete singled for Messalonskee.

At Brewer, the Witches scored 10 first-inning runs en route to the win over the Cougars of Farmington.

Sarah Risser singled and tripled (2 RBIs) while Meghan McLain had a double and single (3 RBIs) for Brewer. Maria Liberatore singled twice (1 RBI).

Kaitlyn Bartlett hit a solo home run for Mt. Blue.

At Bangor, Amy Wadleigh and Sam Besse combined on a five-inning no-hitter as Bangor cruised by Lawrence of Fairfield.

Wadleigh went two innings, striking out three, while Besse fanned four in three innings.

Erica Tweedie hit a two-run single and Amy Hackett hit an RBI double as the Rams plated 11 runs in the first inning. Jeri Cosgrove chipped in with an RBI single later in the game.

At Old Town, Casey McCloskey pitched a four-hitter, giving up four runs with 13 strikeouts to lead Penobscot Valley of Howland by Schenck of East Millinocket.

Melissa Batchelder tallied two singles for the Howlers.

Ashley Deloge had a triple for Schenck.

Kelly Robinson singled twice, scored two runs and drove in one while Christian Pelletier had two singles for the Patriots. Libby Long chipped in with a pair of singles.

At Hampden, Patrick Stevens slapped a two-run double to highlight a four-run first inning for the Broncos as they toppled Messalonskee of Oakland.

Shawn Smith contributed an RBI single while Nolan Turner singled twice for Hampden.

Isaac Guerrette had an RBI double and Joe Dumont an RBI single for the Eagles.

Chase Daniels doubled and tripled with two RBIs while Mike Kotredes singled twice and drove in two. Jon Thoms hit an RBI triple and Billy Bissell added a double and three RBIs for the Witches.

Joe Gilbert posted a double for Mt. Blue.

At Bangor, Jon Johnson hit a two-run single and an RBI triple as Bangor Christian won.

Chris Potter had two singles and two RBIs and Jared Theriault stroked an RBI double for the Patriots, who plated nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good.

Phil Dougherty doubled twice with two RBIs.

Brandon Crocker sparked the Pandas with a three-run home run and two singles. Lee Cropley had three singles and three RBIs and Dean MacDonald two singles and an RBI.
