Cayleigh Montano earned the win with 2 2/3 innings of three-hit, two-run relief.

Alexis Souhlaris (2 RBIs), Whitney Spangler (2 RBIs) and Kristen Calvetti (1 RBI) led the Black Bears with three singles apiece.

Terren Hall hit a record-tying home run for the Bears (9-35, 8-7 America East). They tied the 2000 season mark with 32 homers. Hall finished with a home run, a single and four RBIs. Courtney Gingrich added two singles and two RBIs.

April Setterlund and Rachel Heberts powered the Terriers (26-16, 12-3 AE) with three hits each. Hebert had a homer, two singles and six RBIs. Setterlund had a double and two singles.

Maine, which started the day a half-game out of fourth place, is 4-1 in its last five games.

Bear tracks: UMaine softball coach Stacey Sullivan received a signed National Letter of Intent from 5-foot-6 catcher Mackenzie Brooks of Whitby, Ontario.

“Kenzie will make an immediate impact on our program,” Sullivan said in a press release.

“She brings power at the plate from the left side and should be able to give our offense a boost from the middle of the lienup.”

All NLI signings are contingent upon admission to the school and meeting NCAA Clearinghouse requirements.
