Break-ins reported on Mt. Hope Ave.

A Bangor man who returned Wednesday evening to his Mount Hope Avenue home after a night away found the light on in his bedroom and discovered that a bottle of Vicodin, change and a digital camera were missing.

Someone had entered the home between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. Wednesday by cutting the screen on a study window that had been left partially open, according to a police report. The burglar apparently had searched through the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom cabinets, the report said.

Other break-ins had been reported Tuesday and Wednesday at homes on Mount Hope Avenue and nearby Palm Street.

A woman called police late Wednesday afternoon upon discovering old pornographic magazines and adult diapers in the woods near Valley Avenue and Bruce Road in Bangor.

The Bangor officer bagged up the discarded materials and threw them in the trash, according to a police report. (Toni-Lynn Robbins, BDN)
