ORONO – Jessie Newcomb will discuss her work with Peace through Interamerican Community Action at the adult learning class 9:30 a.m. Sunday, at Orono United Methodist Church, 36 Oak St.

Newcomb, who has attended the church since she was 5 years old, graduated last year from Beloit College in Beloit, Wis., having majored in sociology. During her college years, Newcomb was an intern with Maine Migrant Health and the Hand in Hand project in Downeast Maine.

On Sunday, Newcomb will discuss how her participation in the church youth group led her to work on trade and immigration issues in PICA.
