Two men traveling through Milo on Wednesday night learned that if you have a warrant out for your arrest, you should make sure both of your headlights are in working order.
A Milo police officer pulled over a vehicle around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday because it had a headlight out and discovered that both the driver and passenger had warrants out for their arrest.
Billy Knowlton, 23, of Ohio Street in Bangor was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines. The passenger, Richard Noke, 23, residence unknown, was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines and for violating bail conditions not to drink or possess alcohol. Police found beer cans in the vehicle and performed an Intoxilyzer test that showed Noke had been drinking.
Both men were taken to Piscataquis County Jail.

Bangor police have arrested a 21-year-old local man in connection with the first in a series of residential daytime burglaries reported this week.
Jay Dee Layton was arrested Thursday in connection with a Tuesday burglary at a home on Palm Street. City police are looking into whether Layton was involved in two other burglaries that occurred Wednesday on Mount Hope Avenue.
Among items taken from the three homes were coin collections, jewelry and prescription drugs. A “significant amount” of property was recovered, according to police, who said they were in the process of identifying the owners.
Layton has been charged with one count of burglary and with violating a condition of bail stemming from an unrelated arrest on March 12 in connection with a burglary at Doc’s Place on Stillwater Avenue.
Layton initially was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor but later was transferred to Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth because the Bangor lockup was overcrowded, a Penobscot County Jail official said Friday.
In a statement issued after Layton’s arrest, Lt. Timothy Reid of the Bangor Police Department said he anticipated that additional charges would be presented to the grand jury. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
