AUGUSTA – The winner of the Maine State Lottery’s $2.25 million drawing will be splitting the pot eight ways.

The number picked in Thursday night’s live drawing at the Augusta Civic Center belonged to Tresa Mondor of Biddeford, one of the 10 finalists.

Before the drawing, Mondor and seven others agreed to share the proceeds if any of them came up a winner. Each of the eight will receive $281,250.

All of the finalists qualified by winning $250,000 on an instant ticket game. Each finalist was assigned two numbers from one to 20, and Mondor’s winning number was drawn.
