AUBURN – A 24-year-old Auburn man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of an 8-month-old girl was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison.

Todd Gamache was directed to serve 18 years behind bars with four years suspended.

He pleaded guilty in February to causing the death of Emmy-Leigh Cole by reckless or criminally negligent conduct. Gamache was the boyfriend of Cole’s mother, Libby St. Pierre.

Officials said the baby died after being rushed to a hospital with severe injuries in March 2007.
