Lohan’s excesses likely to draw audiences to E!

As if we didn’t already hear enough about Lindsay Lohan, now her mother and the whole Lohan brood is stepping into the spotlight in their own reality show, according to E! Online.

The saddest part – I can’t wait.

It’s not that I want to hear more about her alcoholism, possible drug addiction, crazy driving, or stints in rehab, but I love to see how the stars live and what’s important to them. As the price of everything goes up from gas and oil to milk and eggs, I’m amazed by those who can afford to continue to buy a new outfit for every day and drive gas-guzzling SUVs.

There are some stars who understand the woes of the little people (take Oprah, for example), and they all seem to have some cause or another that they support (likely to get a tax break). But some stars, such as Lindsay Lohan, who grace the front pages with their mug shots, often don’t appear to understand that with the perks of stardom comes some responsibility to be a role model.

Now, I know we all make mistakes and I admit that it’s those mistakes that we all like to hear about and gossip about, but I’m hoping that Lohan is able to continue to be a good girl and can make a turnaround similar to that of Nicole Richie.

No matter what, it’s almost guaranteed I’ll be glued to the Lohans’ show. I was sucked in to the crazy reality rock-star life of the Osbournes. Now, it’s the Kardashians (whose fame still baffles me because there’s no real reason for it). And sometime this summer I’m sure I’ll be addicted to the Lohans.

As if Lindsay wasn’t enough to handle, the world will get a glimpse at how mom Dina Lohan keeps her flock of four in line from 14-year-old Ali who appears to be following in her big sister’s footsteps, to Cody’s preteen social schedule, to making sure 20-year-old Michael goes to class.

Taping for the series already has begun, but a premiere date hasn’t been announced. The show is expected to air sometime this summer.
