HOWLAND – Junior Nevin Jipson hit a game-ending two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday to lead Penobscot Valley to a 2-0 high school baseball victory over Bangor Christian.

Senior Aaron Saucier allowed just two hits and no walks while striking out eight for the Howlers.

Saucier singled and scored and Dylan Thompson doubled for Penobscot Valley’s other two hits.

There were no hits for either team until the sixth inning.

Phil Dougherty and Brandon Wilcox singled for the Patriots.

At Millinocket, Justin Pelkey hit two doubles and a single while driving in three runs to lift Stearns over Piscataquis of Guilford.

Cory Barnett had two singles and two RBIs for the Minutemen and Jared Manzo added three singles and an RBI.

Tobey Cleaves paced the Pirates with a two-run double.

At East Sullivan, Sean Kilpatrick hit an RBI single in the seventh inning the break the 9-9 tie and give Orono the win over Sumner.

Anthony Cyr hit a two-run double in the seventh to tie it up for Orono. Kirk Francis and Brandon LeVasseur each singled twice and knocked in a run.

Mickey Manning paced Sumner with four singles and two RBIs. Joe Simmons added two singles and two RBIs.

At Milo, A.J. McGowan allowed three runs on five hits and five walks while striking out 14 to help Dexter past Penquis.

McGowan had four singles and two RBIs for the Tigers. Gavin Cote hit a double and two singles and C.J. Giles added three singles and two RBIs.

Brad Brown hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning and added a single for Penquis.

Skowhegan 4, Hampden 3

At Skowhegan, Marcus Morin drove in Les Marcue in the bottom of the seventh inning to break the 3-3 tie and lead Skowhegan to victory over Hampden Academy.

Morin added a two-run single in the third inning for Skowhegan. Marcue had two singles and two runs scored and Jonathan Wheaton hit a double and two singles.

Brennan Perry led Hampden with a two-run single in the fifth inning. Cody Miller and Shawn Smith each hit a double and a single. Nolan Turner singled twice.

Samara Hooper doubled twice with an RBI to lead the Pirates. Annie Agnew hit two singles.

At Milo, Erica Lyford’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh supplied host Penquis with the victory.

Lyford doubled earlier in the contest; Brittany Genther singled twice and Shelby Fowles had two singles and a double for the Patriots.

Michelle Chapman had a pair of singles for Dexter.

At Blue Hill, sophomore Lydia Clapp allowed one run on two hits and four walks while striking out nine to lead George Stevens Academy past Searsport.

Jessica Keith tripled twice and drove in two runs for the Eagles. Lexi Wessel tripled and singled with two RBIs and Stevie Theoharidis added a triple and a single.

Abby Landmesser and Jana Frances-Mezger singled to lead Searsport.
