The Maine Warden Service and state police have asked the public for help in locating a missing 68-year-old Belmont man, who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Charles Milton Springer, also known as Chuck, left his residence on the Corner Road sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, according to Trooper Jason M. Andrews.

It is not uncommon for Springer to walk 20 to 30 miles, but police are uncertain which direction he was headed and don’t know whether he went into the woods.

Springer is 6 feet tall, weighs about 190 pounds and has gray hair and brown eyes. Police believe he is wearing tan pants, but aren’t sure about the rest of his clothing. Springer wears eyeglasses.

Anyone with information that might be helpful is urged to call Maine State Police in Augusta at 800-452-4664.
