CORINTH – Central High School Principal Garry Spencer has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2008.
Matthew Connolly, son of James and Kathy Connolly of Corinth, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2008. He plans to study fire protection engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass.
Connolly was inducted into the National Honor Society as a junior and is serving as secretary his senior year. He is a peer mediator and a member of the math team, drama club, Project Adventure, Project Graduation and the band. He has participated in varsity basketball, varsity soccer, and varsity indoor and outdoor track. He is a member of the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Gold Palm. He was selected to receive the Principal’s Award.
Stephen LaFlamme, son of Ronald and Dawn LaFlamme of Corinth, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2008. He plans to attend the University of Maine to study athletic training.
LaFlamme was inducted into the National Honor Society as a senior. He is a peer mediator and a member of Project Adventure and talent search. He has participated in varsity basketball and was selected as Big East honorable mention and Penobscot Valley Conference scholar athlete. He volunteered at Manna Ministries and Corinth Old Home Days, and participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Operation Keep Me Warm.
