Trans-Tech honored for service

BREWER – Ken Peters was honored recently with the 2008 Small-Business Volunteerism Award for work Trans-Tech Industries Inc. has done in the community.

State Sen. Richard Rosen presented Peters with a Legislative Sentiment honoring him for his achievement and contributions.

Trans-Tech of Brewer manufactures high quality aluminum tanks and for the past 10 years Ken Peters, owner and CEO, has made not only a personal commitment but also a business commitment to assisting the community.

Private sector donations to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter have increased with the behind-the-scenes support and leadership of Ken Peters and Trans-Tech.

In addition to financial support, Trans-Tech employees delivered new furniture to update the shelter’s TV room.

Trans-Tech employee Bob Landry invests many hours helping shelter staff order supplies and ensuring accurate delivery.

Trans-Tech also has helped in Brewer’s WinterFest.

Peters and his staff have actively sponsored a children’s carnival, numerous musical acts and other activities during the two-day community event.

Trans-Tech Industries is a perfect example of small-business stewardship and community service, legislators said.
