CORINTH – Calvin Tweedie capped a five-run fifth inning with a solo homer that broke a 7-7 tie and he also had a double and three RBIs as Mount Desert Island overcame a 7-0 deficit to defeat Central 17-10 in Class B baseball action Thursday.

CORINTH – Calvin Tweedie capped a five-run fifth inning with a solo homer that broke a 7-7 tie and he also had a double and three RBIs as Mount Desert Island overcame a 7-0 deficit to defeat Central 17-10 in Class B baseball action Thursday.

Danny Dunn had four singles and four RBIs, Brett Mitchell knocked in three runs with a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly and Josh Delaittre had two singles and an RBI for the winners.

Jake Speed doubled and singled and drove in three runs for Central.

At Ellsworth, Dillon Wilbur hit three singles and drove in two runs to help lead Ellsworth past Foxcroft Academy.

Adam Kaspala had two singles and two RBIs for the Eagles. Josh Palmacci added a two-run triple in the fourth.

Josh Conroy singled twice for the Ponies.

At East Sullivan, Casey Ashey and Rocky Faunce combined to give up only two hits while walking one and striking out seven to lead the Vikings to the shutout win.

Evan Kingsbury hit a two-run double in the second and added a single for Searsport. Dustin Brassbridge had a two-run single and Nate Adams doubled.

Ryan Daley and Joe Simmons singled for the Tigers.

At Bucksport, Eddie Robbins hit a triple and two singles and drove in three runs to lift Bucksport over John Bapst of Bangor.

Kyle McGeechan had a double, three runs scored and three stolen bases for the Golden Bucks. Cam Wadleigh added two singles and an RBI.

Nick Smith paced the Crusaders with a solo home run, double and single.

At Rockland, Camilo Pardo’s run-scoring single snapped a 5-5 tie in the sixth inning and Sean Hutchinson’s sacrifice fly and Steven Wight’s single produced two seventh-inning runs as Erskine Academy of South China triumphed.

Nick Grady paced Erskine Academy with a two-run homer, two singles and three RBIs with Wight and Derek Derose contributing two singles apiece.

Erick Harjula, Luke Morrill and Nick Little had two singles apiece for Rockland with Morrill collecting an RBI. Andy Murphy added an RBI double.

At Corinth, Central’s Kara Voisine pitched a mercy rule-shortened two-hitter while notching nine strikeouts against just one walk.

Joceyln Portman had a triple, single and three RBIs for the Red Devils.

MacKenzie Curtis had an RBI double for the Mount Desert Island Trojans.

At East Sullivan, Brenn Alexander homered, doubled and singled and knocked in two runs to lead Sumner past Searsport.

Kayla Higgins hit a two-run homer in the first inning and added a single for the Tigers. Morgan Taxler tripled and doubled with two RBIs, and Lona Sargent hit two doubles and recorded 10 strikeouts.

Jana Frances-Mezger singled twice to lead the Vikings, and Abby Landmesser added a single and scored a run.
