ORLAND – Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust will hold a Wildlands Bird Walk 6:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands.
Pete McKinley of the Forest Society of Maine will lead the search for migratory and breeding songbirds by sight and sound, in addition to any other birds encountered, starting from the Wildlands’ North Gate on the Bald Mountain Road in North Orland.
Bring binoculars and bug protection. There will be options for an easy 1-mile hike or a longer adventure. Preregistration is required and space is limited for this free event. E-mail cdomina@midmaine.com or call 469-2008 to preregister or for information.
