The following is a list of graduations at Maine colleges and universities:

University of Maine, Orono

206th commencement on Saturday, May 10, Alfond Arena.

10 a.m.: College of Business, Public Policy and Health; College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; and Division of Lifelong Learning.

2:30 p.m.: College of Education and Human Development; College of Engineering (including School of Engineering Technology); and College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture.

Commencement speaker for both: Doug Hall, a 1981 UMaine graduate who is founder and CEO of Eureka Ranch, a Cincinnati-based business where individuals and businesses learn how to turn their ideas into commercial success. Hall is involved in UMaine’s Foster Student Innovation Center and the university’s Innovation Engineering curriculum.

UMaine will operate a shuttle bus service from the steam plant parking lot, Belgrade lot, Maine Center for the Arts lot and Hilltop lot to Alfond Arena, both before and after the ceremonies. Those traveling to UMaine are encouraged to allow plenty of time and to expect traffic delays of up to 60 minutes. Those coming to UMaine on Interstate 95 should consider using Exit 197 and traveling through Old Town to the university’s Park Street entrance if traffic is significantly backed up at exits closer to Bangor.

Husson College, Bangor

10:30 a.m. May 10, Winkin Athletic Complex.

Commencement speaker: Joseph F. Dooley, a 1975 Husson graduate who is the retired worldwide president of battery maker Duracell. He spent most of his career in senior management positions at Procter & Gamble and Gillette.

University of Maine at Machias

97th commencement at 2 p.m. May 10, Reynolds Center Gym.

Commencement speaker: state Sen. Kevin L. Raye, a longtime Perry resident who has represented Washington County in Augusta since 2005 and is serving his second term in the Maine Senate. He and his wife, Karen Raye, co-own and operate Raye’s Mustard Mill in Eastport and their own consulting business.

University of Maine at Augusta-University College of Bangor

40th commencement at 10 a.m. May 10, Augusta Civic Center.

Commencement speaker: Senate Majority Leader Libby Mitchell, who became Maine’s first female House majority leader in 1980; first female speaker of the House in 1996; elected Senate majority leader in 2006. She lives in Vassalboro with her husband, Jim, a judge of probate of Kennebec County.

University of Maine at Presque Isle

99th commencement at 10:30 a.m. May 10, in Wieden Gym.

Commencement speaker: Glenn Gabbard, associate director of the New England Resource Center for Higher Education and director of Project Compass.

University of Maine at Farmington

155th commencement at 10:30 a.m. May 17, outdoors behind Olsen Student Center. UMF’s Fitness & Recreation Center with limited admission in the event of inclement weather. Those with Dearborn Gym tickets are invited to watch the ceremony live over closed-circuit TV inside UMF’s Dearborn Gym. UMF’s commencement ceremony will be broadcast live on MBTV, community access Channel 11, whether the ceremony is held indoors or outdoors. For information call 778-7276 or 778-7256.

Commencement speaker: Sally Goodrich, a Vermont educator who, after her son died in the World Trade Center attacks, found hope in dedicating her life to helping the children of Afghanistan. Details of Goodrich’s efforts in war-ravaged Afghanistan have appeared recently in The Boston Globe, BBC World Service and Reader’s Digest. She was named ABC News’ Person of the Week in 2005.

University of Southern Maine

128th commencement at 9 a.m. May 10, Cumberland County Civic Center, 10 Civic Square, Portland.

Commencement speaker: Roger Wilkins, who shared a Pulitzer Prize in 1972 for Watergate coverage with Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein and Herb (Herblock) Block, is the Clarence J. Robinson Professor of History and American Culture at George Mason University. He served as assistant attorney general during the Johnson administration and has written for The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Unity College

Commencement at 1 p.m. May 10, Unity College Gymnasium.

Commencement speaker: Tedd Benson, author of four books and owner of Benson Woodworking Co. Inc., which specializes in timber frame construction. He lives with his wife and partner, Christine, in an open-built home in Alstead, N.H.

Washington County Community College, Calais

Commencement at 11 a.m. May 16, Calais High School.

Commencement speaker: Glenn Cummings, speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.

Kennebec Valley Community College, Fairfield

Commencement at 10 a.m. May 17, Augusta Civic Center.

Commencement speaker: Sara Burns, president and CEO of Central Maine Power Co.

University of New England, Biddeford and Portland

Commencement at 3 p.m. May 10, at Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland.

Commencement speaker: former Maine Gov. John McKernan, who was governor from 1987 to 1995, has served as chairman of the National School-to-Work Advisory Council in Washington, D.C., and of the International Advisory Board of the Center for Career Development in South Portland. He serves as executive chairman of Education Management Corp. and chairman of its board of directors.

Northern Maine Community College, Presque Isle

Commencement at 10 a.m. May 17, NMCC Gymnasium.

York County Community College, Wells

Commencement at 10 a.m. May 17, YCCC campus.

Commencement speaker: Glenn Cummings, speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.

Commencement speaker: Thomas Swieczkowski, EMCC’s 2008 Student of the Year

College of the Atlantic, Bar Harbor

Commencement at 2 p.m. June 7, on the college’s North Lawn.

Commencement speaker: JoAnne Carpenter, COA faculty member in art and art history who is retiring after 35 years.

Thomas College, Waterville

Commencement at 1 p.m. May 10, on the college campus.

Commencement speaker: H. Allen Ryan, former owner and president of PFG-NorthCenter Food Service Corp. in Augusta.

Bangor Theological Seminary

189th commencement at 1 p.m. May 16, State Street Congregational Church in Portland.

Commencement speaker: Mathew Meyer Boulton, assistant professor of ministry studies at Harvard Divinity School and an author. An ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he also serves as associate pastor and director of music for Hope Church in Roslindale, Mass.

Maine College of Art

97th commencement at 2 p.m. May 11, Merrill Auditorium, Portland.

Commencement speaker: artist Fred Wilson.

Colby College, Waterville

187th commencement at 10 a.m. May 25, Miller Library lawn (Alfond Athletic Center in the event of inclement weather).

Commencement speaker: Robert E. Diamond Jr., who majored in economics at Colby and is president of Barclays PLC, the London-based financial services firm, and chief executive of Investment Banking and Investment Management comprising Barclays Capital, Barclays Global Investors and Barclays Wealth.
