Greenville rallies, earns split

RANGELEY – Greenville erased a 3-0 deficit with five runs in the sixth inning to avoid the sweep by Rangeley with a 5-3 win in the second game of a schoolboy baseball doubleheader Saturday.

In the first game, Luke Hammond hit two singles and a home run with two RBIs for Rangeley. Mark Brooks posted a home run and a single with three RBIs while Ben Bliss added two singles and two RBIs.

Tim Post tallied two singles and a double for Greenville.

In the second game, Emerson Sikes hit a two-run double as part of the five-run sixth inning. T.J. St. Louis had three singles for Greenville.

Mike Raymond paced Rangeley with two singles, a triple and two RBIs. Bliss added a double and two singles with an RBI.

So. Aroostook, Fort Kent split

At Dyer Brook, Tyler Robinson hit two singles, a double and drove in two runs to spark Southern Aroostook past Fort Kent 3-0 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.

Fort Kent topped Southern Aroostook in the second game 6-4.

In the first game, Dakota Sleeper had three singles and an RBI while Dennis Casey added two singles for Southern Aroostook.

Derrick Chasse had a double and a single for Fort Kent.

In the second game, Joe Soucy hit a two-run single while Thomas Levesque had an RBI single for Fort Kent.

Southern Aroostook was paced by Robinson with two singles, a double and an RBI. Robbie Toothaker hit a home run while Sleeper had an RBI double.

Rangeley sweeps Greenville

At Rangeley, Krista Jamison hit a three-run home run in the first inning to propel Rangeley to a 13-4 victory over Greenville in Saturday’s first game. Rangeley won the second game 16-2 in five innings.

In the first game, Karissa Allen had two singles and an RBI triple for Rangeley. Alli Hammond hit three singles.

Emma Wilson paced Greenville with two singles and a run scored. Liz Withers singled and scored a run.

In the second game, Allen hit two doubles and drove in four runs for Rangeley. Sam Olivieri added three singles and four RBIs and Angela White doubled and singled.

Greenville’s Wilson doubled and Autumn Gann hit an RBI single.

At Calais, Tessa Clark pitched seven innings, allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts, to lead undefeated Calais by Woodland.

Toni Cole doubled and drove in a run Calais.

Ariel Knights had an RBI single for Woodland while Ashley Laking and Courtney Cochran each hit a double.

Bucksport, Presque Isle split

At Bucksport, Keely Sullivan drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Bucksport past Presque Isle 5-4 in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Presque Isle won the second game 4-2.
