Penobscot Valley High School, Howland

Principal Carol Marcinkus has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2008. Class night exercises will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 29. Commencement exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in the George Sereyko Memorial Gymnasium.

Michaela King, daughter of Blaine and Kelly King of West Enfield, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2008. She will attend the University of Maine studying biology and pre-pharmacy.

She has participated in the senior honors project, National Honor Society, honors banquet, class council, student council, student council president senior year, freshman and junior class vice president, sophomore class president, soccer, cheerleading, tennis and a Dirigo Girls State representative.

King has received the Maine Youth Leadership Award, the Principal’s Award, Voice of Democracy Award, William College Book Award, Personal Success Award for Writing and honorable mention for Bangor Daily News contest.

Erin Snape, daughter of Linda and Ray Round of Enfield and Thomas Snape and Karen Benson of Enfield, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2008. She will attend the University of Maine to study anthropology and archeology.

She has participated in honors banquet, National Honor Society, Dirigo Girls State Delegate, honors banquet, band and French club.
