ORONO – University of Maine softball player Ashley Waters has been named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Second Team for the second consecutive year.
A communications major, the junior second baseman led America East in hits (58), home runs (10) and total bases (101) for the regular season, and subsequently was named the America East player of the year and conference all-academic team member.
