A Milford man directing traffic on Ohio Street in Bangor on Monday was injured when a steel cable became tangled in a passing school bus and knocked him over.
Utility workers had a steel cable stretched across the street when Larry McGregor, age unknown, was directing traffic and flagged a Cyr Bus to continue south, according to a Bangor police report.
The steel cable somehow became tangled in the bus, stretched and snapped. The cable struck McGregor and swept the flagger off his feet.
He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where his condition was reported Tuesday night as fair, according to a nursing supervisor. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)
