BANGOR – Eastern Maine Medical Center announced Tuesday that Jack A. Palmer, president and CEO of Kleinschmidt Associates in Pittsfield, and Peter Hoff, former president of the University of Maine at Orono, have completed their terms on the EMMC board.

“We are grateful for the time that Peter and Jack have devoted in service to EMMC and the patients of the region,” said Deborah Carey Johnson, president of EMMC. “Their wise counsel and thoughtful consideration of the many difficult issues facing health care have both inspired and challenged us to find innovative solutions.”

Joining the board this spring are Sally Arata, a retired registered nurse who formerly directed the EMMC Women’s Center, and John Vickery, owner of the W.S. Emerson embroidery, silk-screen and applique business in Brewer. In addition, board vice chairman Michael McInnis, senior vice president of HRH Northern New England, becomes the board chairman this spring, taking over from outgoing chairwoman Virginia Gibson, a retired professor at the University of Maine.
