155th commencement at 10:30 a.m. May 17, outdoors behind Olsen Student Center. UMF’s Fitness and Recreation Center with limited admission in the event of inclement weather. Those with Dearborn Gym tickets are invited to watch the ceremony live over closed-circuit TV inside UMF’s Dearborn Gym. Commencement speaker: Sally Goodrich, a Vermont educator who, after her son died in the World Trade Center attacks, found hope in dedicating her life to helping the children of Afghanistan. Details of Goodrich’s efforts in war-ravaged Afghanistan have appeared recently in The Boston Globe, BBC World Service and Reader’s Digest. She was named ABC News’ Person of the Week in 2005.

Commencement speaker: Mathew Meyer Boulton, author and assistant professor of ministry studies at Harvard Divinity School. An ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he also serves as associate pastor and director of music for Hope Church in Roslindale, Mass.
Colby College, Waterville

Commencement speaker: Robert E. Diamond Jr., who majored in economics at Colby and is president of Barclays PLC, the London-based financial services firm, and chief executive of Investment Banking and Investment Management comprising Barclays Capital, Barclays Global Investors and Barclays Wealth.
