KITTERY – Maine Marine Patrol divers are searching for the body of a lobsterman missing and presumed drowned after his boat capsized.

Sgt. Rick Laflamme said 11 divers were taking turns in the waters off Kittery and an airplane was making sweeps over nearby rocky islands on the Maine-New Hampshire border.

Christopher Tobey, his 16-year-old son and another crew member were tossed into the frigid Atlantic on Sunday when their boat capsized. The teen and crewman made it to Duck Island in the Isles of Shoals and were rescued Monday.

Tobey’s family expressed appreciation for the outpouring of support. A fund has been set up at Northeast Credit Union for his children.
