Dunn’s 3 RBIs pace MDI

BAR HARBOR – Danny Dunn drove in three runs with two doubles and Sam Stewart tossed 3 2/3 innings of one-hit relief, allowing one unearned run Thursday as Mount Desert Island earned a 6-3 high school baseball victory over Old Town.

Calvin Tweedie (RBI) and Josh Delaittre had three singles each for the Trojans and Stewart had two singles.

Jason Smith had Old Town’s only hits, a pair of singles.

At Danforth, Rob Toothaker and Dillon Bowlion each posted a triple, a single and an RBI to propel Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook by East Grand.

Cody Robinson had a double with two RBIs for the Warriors.

David Cropley hit two singles while Andrew Gilman had an RBI single for East Grand.

At Harrington, Josh Gillespie walloped two homers, a three-run shot and a solo blast, to lead Calais by Narraguagus.

Josh Beal (RBI), Colby Tucker (RBI) and Kam Jordan hiit three singles each for Calais.

At Hermon, Steve Klenowski’s two-run single keyed a three-run sixth inning that boosted the Golden Bucks.

Ross Bowden hurled a seven-hitter, striking out six and walking three.

Klenowski had two singles and three RBIs and Cam Wadleigh singled twice.

Brian Saucier and Travis Kane had two singles each for Hermon.

At Harrington, the Blue Devils pushed across 10 runs in the top of the seventh en route to their seventh victory.

Honor Wilkinson had two singles and a double and Toni Cote three singles for Calais. Marcey Gillespie and Courtney Hill each had two singles.

For the Knights, Sam Baker singled twice and doubled.

Ally Wharton had a triple, a double, a single and two RBIs for Hermon. Ashley Thayer added a triple and a single with an RBI for the Hawks.

At Lincoln, Deni Nicastro and Taylor Trask combined to surrender just one run on three hits while striking out 12 as Mattanawcook avenged an opening-day loss to the Crusaders of Bangor.

Kristy Burleigh had two singles and an RBI for the Lynx.

Sheila Toomey hit an RBI triple for Bapst.

At Presque Isle, Erika Lackey had two doubles and a single and Vanessa Sanderson three singles as the visiting Shiretowners rallied for the win Wednesday night.

Lainey Herring doubled twice for Houlton, which trailed 5-0 after the second inning. The Shires plated four runs in the seventh for the win.

Allisen Donovan singled twice for Presque Isle.
