PORTLAND – The former leader of a referendum campaign to develop a casino in Oxford County has acknowledged lapses in judgment.
Rumford lawyer Seth Carey told a professional panel overseeing complaints filed against him that his actions were at times “brash, intemperate and excessive.”
Carey stepped down from the campaign last month after being issued a summons for an assault that allegedly occurred in early March.
The assault charge eventually was dropped. Carey still faces an ethics complaint that’s under review by the Maine Overseers of the Bar. Closing arguments in the ethics case are expected later this month.
