A story that ran on Page B5 of Wednesday’s paper about arguments in Bangor before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court in a case filed by a Belfast couple against the city requires clarification. Lawrence and Mia Roop sold their home on Searsport Avenue but maintained an easement frontage and about 6 acres behind the house, according to Elizabeth Minor, spokeswoman for the Roops.
In a story Thursday about an Atlanta police officer on trial in a raid that led to an elderly woman’s death, The Associated Press erroneously reported the date she was killed. It was Nov. 21, 2006, not Nov. 26, 2006. The story also incorrectly reported that Kathryn Johnston was shot 39 times by narcotics officers. Officers fired 39 times. An autopsy report revealed Johnston was shot five or six times.
