Road Warriors overcome Owls for fourth win

MADAWASKA – Jesse Guimond drove in three runs with a triple and a sacrifice fly and Joe Soucy belted a two-run homer and also had a single as the Fort Kent High School Warriors outslugged Madawaska 13-6 in schoolboy baseball action Friday.

Aaron Paradis and Nick Michaud each had two singles and two RBIs for Fort Kent, which was playing a home game in Madawaska because its field is unplayable.

Josh Tardif went five innings for the win.

Jeff Cyr had a double and two singles for the Owls, Ethan Welch had two singles and Nathan Beaulieu knocked in two runs with a double and sacrifice fly.

CAHS sweeps GHCA

At Mars Hill, the Panthers piled up 26 hits while sweeping a doubleheader from the Eagles, winning the first game 15-5 and the second game 20-1, both in five innings.

In the opener, Blake McCarthy plated two runs with a triple and a double to pace Central Aroostook. Cameron York doubled and singled and Manny Martinez singled twice, both with two RBIs. Logan McLaughlin added two singles.

Mitch Folsom earned the win in relief.

Mackenzie Burns doubled to pace Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

In Game 2, the Panthers scored 16 runs in the first inning to end the suspense.

Logan McCarthy hit a double and two singles with two RBIs to pace the attack. York and Folsom each posted three singles and two RBIs.

Matt Lincoln hit an RBI single for the Eagles.

At Woodland, Dustin Laney and Andrew James combined on a two-hitter as Woodland shut out East Grand of Danforth.

Eddie Flaherty had a triple and two singles for Woodland. Ryan Rhode hit an two-run double while Zack Graybill had a single with two RBIs for the Dragons.

Kaleb Dicker and Matt Steeves each hit a single for East Grand.

At Dyer Brook, Anthony Diaferio knocked down a bases loaded bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning to drive in the game winning run as lead Southern Aroostook past Shead of Eastport.

Tyler Robinson hit a home run, a double and a single with three RBIs for the Warriors. Cody Robinson and Rob Toothaker each hit a solo home run.

Justin Lewey posted three singles and a double to paced Shead while Thomas Pottle had a double and a single.

Wisdom 7, Washburn 6

At St. Agatha, Curtis Collins drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Pioneers rallied to defeat Washburn.

Cody Chamberland tallied a double and two RBIs for Wisdom. Kurtis Daigle tripled and singled with an RBI while Collins had two singles.

Sebastian Viola posted two singles and a double for Washburn.

CAHS sweeps GHCA

At Mars Hill, Sarah Long tallied two home runs, a single and six RBIs in the doubleheader to power Central Aroostook to the sweep over Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

The Panthers won by scores of 11-6 and 24-8 respectively.

In the first game, Robyn Graham hit a grand slam and a single. Ashley Estabrook and Latish Neece each hit a home run for Central Aroostook.

Kasi Parker posted a triple with two RBIs while Megan Carrol and Emily Little each had two singles and an RBI for the Eagles.

In the second game, Neece had a home run, a double and three RBIs for the Panthers. Rachel Donovan added two singles with two RBIs.

Greater Houlton Christian was paced by Carrol with a triple and a single with an RBI. Pelletier had an RBI triple.

At Fort Fairfield, Evangeline Goodall had a home run, a triple and two singles with two RBIs to propel Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook by Fort Fairfield.

The Warriors erupted for 14 runs in the first inning to take the early lead.

Liz Goodall had two singles, a triple, a double and four RBIs for Southern Aroostook.

Shannon Towle hit three singles and drove in four runs for the Tigers.

Jackie Dodge had an RBI single for East Grand.

At Fort Kent, Ashley Cyr and Crystal Arnold each hit two singles and drove in three runs to lead Madawaska by Fort Kent.

Stephanie Nadeau and Kayle Cyr each posted two singles and two RBIs for the Owls.

Liz Morneault and Breanna Thibodeau had two doubles and two RBIs apiece. Krystal Cyr tripled and doubled with three RBIs for Fort Kent.

At Calais, Toni Cole hit a home run and two singles with four RBIs as the unbeaten Blue Devils scored their 10th victory.

Honor Wilkinson added a triple, double and single with two RBIs, while Shannon Brown doubled and singled twice with two RBIs in the six-inning contest.

Hannah Carver had two singles and an RBI for Jonesport-Beals, while Brandee Beal and Lindsey Jones each had an RBI single.

At Millinocket, Lydia Clapp pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out 13 while walking four and hitting three batters, as George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill cruised to victory.

Alida Peake singled twice for the Eagles, while Lexi Wessel stroked a two-run single and Abby Astbury hit an RBI double.

Katie Mills hit a fourth-inning single to lead Stearns.

At Orono, the Tigers scored in every inning except the first while pulling way to beat the Red Riots.

Angela Leach tripled, doubled and singled to pace Sumner of East Sullivan. Brenn Alexander and Kayla Higgins each poked two doubles with two RBIs to back winning pitcher Tashia Daley.

Chelsea Paul and Chloe Paul hit two singles each to lead Orono. Sonya Forst posted two RBIs.
