In regard to the May 10-11 editorial, “Investing in Quality”: lots of pretty good ideas, but all the things “truly marketable about Maine” are all for naught if the tourists, townspeople, big city residents and truck transportation to support these proposals can’t get from there to here without blowing tires, knocking front-end alignments out of whack and making poor driving time because of road hazards. Of course, in Washington County, be careful not to lose control of your vehicle and go off the road because all (or most) of the roadside barriers are now lying flat on the ground.
Better concentrate on “getting there and back” safely before anything else is accomplished in this beautiful part of Maine.
