Thirty-nine years ago on May 13, my childhood friend Scott F. Andresen was murdered by communists at a place called Tay Ninh, Vietnam.
I dropped out of school to join the Army. I served my country without complaint and when I was done I returned to school and earned a diploma as well as two engineering degrees from the same school that Mr. King attended.
The recent contemptuous remarks mouthed by Mr. King to a captive audience of young citizens are despicable. It is yet another example of the veiled hate for the military, by his ilk, that I have endured in those 39 years.
No apology needed here.
