Penobscot Nation club to use aid for computers

INDIAN ISLAND – The Penobscot Nation Boys & Girls Club received a $1,500 donation from the Coca-Cola Bottlers Foundation.

“This donation comes at a key time for the Club,” director Carla Fearon said in a news release. “Our computer room is in need of new and technologically advanced equipment so that we may continue to support the educational needs of the youth we serve.”

The foundation is a division of the Coca-Cola Bottlers Association that has invested its earnings in Coca-Cola stock. The $20 million in assets that has accumulated has been used to create a charitable foundation to benefit foundation communities.
