SURRY – Don Eley, a founding member and president of the Friends of Blue Hill Bay, will be the speaker at the Surry Community Improvement Association at 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Surry Elementary School.
Eley will discuss the history of the friends group, the Greater Blue Hill Bay ecosystem, which includes Union River Bay, Patten Bay and Morgan Bay, aquaculture leases in the bay, and the organization’s efforts to preserve the health of the bay.
During the meeting, friends members George Fields and Heather Albert-Knopp will display 23 maps developed by the Use Inventory Projects, which highlight the various uses of the bay and its shorelines.
