Presque Isle rallies by Caribou

PRESQUE ISLE – Serena Greer followed three straight one-out walks and a strikeout with an RBI bloop single to right field that tied the game and Katie Ouellette scored the winning run on a wild pitch Tuesday to give Caribou a 3-2 high school softball victory over archrival Presque Isle.

Ouellette’s slide into home dislodged the ball and allowed her to get in safely.

Ashley Doucette had a double and two singles while Greer, who pitched a five-hitter, had two singles for the Vikings.

Loser Krista Coffin also scattered five hits and hit an RBI double for the Wildcats.

Hodgdon, CAHS split

At Hodgdon, the Central Aroostook Panthers of Mars Hill scored eight times in the top of the eighth to capture the first game of a doubleheader with Hodgdon, 23-15.

The Hawks won game two 30-27.

In the first game, Robyn Graham singled three times, drove in four runs and scored four more while Sarah Long had three singles, a double and three RBIs for the Panthers.

Rachel Donahue added two doubles.

Destiny Ellis tripled, doubled and singled for Hodgdon while Heather Rockwell had four singles and Dana Tidd two.

In the second game, Taylor McGary hit for the cycle, including a grand slam, and finished with seven RBIs as the Hawks salvaged a split.

Rockwell had five singles and Sam Lycette four for the winners.

Graham had four singles and four RBIs and Ashley Estabrook two triples and two singles for the Panthers.

At Washburn, Melanie Allen cranked a grand slam, a double and single to help Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics improve to 12-0.

Victoria St. Pierre chipped in with a two-run home run and two singles. Dawn McDonald added a triple, double, single and two RBIs.

Dakota Koch tripled and singled for Washburn and Kelsee McLaughlin hit a three-run double.

At Stacyville, Jasmine Pelletier drove in two runs with a triple to lead Katahdin past Schenck of East Millinocket.

Melissa Duffy singled twice and doubled to knock in two runs for the Cougars.

Ashley Deloge had two singles and Ashley Grant a double and a single for Schenck.

At Dyer Brook, Andrea Mayo connected for a grand slam to lead the undefeated Hornets to victory.

Suzanne Poulin knocked three singles for Ashland.

Jasmine Rockwell singled and doubled while Sara Crandall hit two singles for Southern Aroostook.

Liz Goodall hit a solo homer and tripled for the Warriors while Kim Grant had a pair of singles.

Ashland 5, Southern Aroostook 1

DYER BROOK – Jeremy Tarr pitched a five-hitter with nine strikeouts, two walks and two hit batters Tuesday to lead unbeaten Ashland to a 5-1 high school baseball victory over Southern Aroostook.

Tyler Cote stroked three singles for Ashland, while Nick Gimbel and Jake Paradis each knocked a double and a single.

Cody Robinson doubled and singled to back Dakota Sleeper, who fanned eight. Daren Flewelling also doubled.

At Van Buren, Alex Martin drove in four runs on two doubles and a home run to spark Van Buren by Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

Josh Deschaine hit three singles for the Crusaders.

Chad Duff posted three singles for Greater Houlton Christian.

GHCA sweeps East Grand

At Danforth Monday, Chad Duff collected seven hits and pitched a 10-inning complete game to lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy to a doubleheader sweep of East Grand.

The Eagles won the first game 12-10 in 10 innings and took the second game 5-3 in a game called after five innings because of rain.

In Game 1, Duff pitched a seven-hitter, striking out 17, and singled four times to help GHCA prevail.

Jaren Gray and Ryan Campbell each singled and scored the tying and winning runs in the 10th. Campbell also tripled and doubled with two RBIs, while Mckenzie Burns doubled and singled (1 RBI).

Kaleb Dicker led East Grand of Danforth with an inside-the-park home run and a single, while Abe Brittain and Andrew Gilman posted two singles and two RBIs each.

In Game 2, the Eagles scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to pull out the win.

Duff stroked a triple, a double and a single for the winners, and Straubel singled twice behind winner Campbell.

Dicker hit a double for the Vikings.

Cen. Aroostook sweeps Hodgdon

At Hodgdon, Logan McLaughlin, Logan McCarthy and Mitch Folsom combined on a one-hitter as Central Aroostook of Mars Hill topped Hodgdon 13-3 in five innings in the first game of a doubleheader.

The Panthers won the four-inning second game 13-2.

In the first game, McLaughlin had a double with an RBI while Manny Martinez hit a two-run single for Central Aroostook.

Ryan Wellington hit an RBI single for Hodgdon.

In the second game, Will Delong and Folsom each hit an RBI single for the Panthers.

Wellington doubled for the Hawks.

At Stacyville, Brandon Robinson pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts as Katahdin cruised to the shutout of Schenck of East Millinocket.

Ethan Qualey hit a home run and a single with three RBIs for Katahdin. Andy Kay had a double and a single with two RBIs, while Josh McGraw and Caleb Gallagher each hit two singles for the Cougars.

Dan Faloon hit a double for Schenck.
