SINCLAIR – The Madawaska post office will hold a Passport Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Patrick Theriault School, 425 Martin Road, Sinclair. The fair will help residents quickly and conveniently obtain passports.
U.S. passports are issued by the U.S. Department of State but applications are available at most post offices. Applicants need to bring an original copy of their birth certificate (with a raised seal) and proof of identity. Children under age 14 require both parents present and need a long-form birth certificate. Postal staff will have a camera available for passport photos for $15.
Passport fees are $75 ($60 for children under 16) plus $25 ($40 with photos). Only cash or checks can be accepted. For information, call the Madawaska post office at 728-4302.
