BROOKS – Excessive speed was blamed for a Tuesday morning accident that sent a Knox man to the hospital with facial cuts and injuries.
Philip A. Walsh, 49, was driving a 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck on Lang Hill Highway at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control on a curve, left the road, skidded on sand and grass and ended up going over an embankment. Walsh admitted that he was probably going too fast, Waldo County Chief Deputy Robert Keating said Wednesday.
Walsh suffered cuts to his face and was taken by Brooks Ambulance to Waldo County General Hospital. Damage to his truck was estimated at $800.
