SULLIVAN – A local man faces several charges after he allegedly fired a gun early Wednesday morning during a domestic dispute at his Taunton Drive home.
Wayne Kane, 39, was arrested Wednesday in Ellsworth.
Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were called to Kane’s residence just before 1 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a domestic dispute.
“It was a domestic dispute and things got out of hand,” Deputy Jeff Turcotte said. “There was a gun involved. He fired it, but not at anybody.”
Turcotte said Kane allegedly threatened his wife and held the gun to her head. The woman was not injured. There also was some damage inside the house.
Kane fled the area and was gone by the time deputies arrived on the scene. They searched the area but were unable to find Kane at the time. He was found in Ellsworth later in the day and arrested.
Kane faces charges of reckless conduct with a firearm, assault and criminal threatening.
