NORTHPORT – A corporate retreat built by credit card company MBNA in the 1990s in Maine is opening to the public.
Point Lookout’s 380-acre complex has a conference center, a fitness center and gymnasium, a bowling alley and 106 guest cabins.
The Northport resort overlooking Penobscot Bay was closed for two years, but now it’s under the ownership of the Erickson Foundation of Baltimore.
The foundation is a leader in developing retirement communities, but it has different plans for Point Lookout. It hopes to make it a vacation spot for retirees. Also, area residents will be able to rent cottages and use the fitness club and bowling alley.
